Da Nang & Hoi An Diary

Since it was the summer season, both Da Nang and Hoi An were extremely hot.
Honestly, it felt like melting. Sunscreen and sunglasses were absolutely essential.

I also saw many tourists with skin burnt completely red by the sun, and I could not help thinking, “That really cannot be good for your skin…”

During this stay in Da Nang and Hoi An, I visited around five different spas in total.
That said, apart from my two favourites, I only had foot massages at the others.

My first favourite was a spa I had visited once last year, where I received consistently good treatments.
This time, there was a menu I had been curious about for a while, and I wanted to know how I would personally feel about it.

However, if I were ever to incorporate something similar into my own treatments, I think I would limit it to the winter and spring seasons.
In this level of heat, it felt slightly too warming for the body.

My other favourite was a small independent salon.
I also discovered this place last year, and during my stay, I ended up going there almost every day.

My usual routine was to go before bed and combine shampoo, facial treatment, and foot massage together.
I found myself returning there every night again this time as well.

That being said, the number of spas in Da Nang has increased dramatically.
Hoi An also had many spas, but strangely, I did not really feel like going into most of them.

I tried one foot massage there once, but ended up asking to finish the session halfway through.

It was my first time visiting Hoi An itself.
The old town had very charming streets.

At night, the riverside area became lively every evening, almost like a festival.

Personally, what left the strongest impression on me was the area of small family-run guesthouses hidden in the alleys near the beach.
There was something nostalgic about the atmosphere, and I thought, “If I come back again, I would like to stay somewhere like this next time.”

There were also many small cafés nearby with a relaxed atmosphere, and it seemed like a very nice place to spend quiet time.

Yesterday, I returned to Hanoi, and the atmosphere had already changed quite a lot compared to a week ago. I feel that the real rainy season has probably started now.
